About Eilat
Eilat is an Israeli resort town on the Eilat Bay by the Red Sea surrounded with mountains, deserts and oases. The city is a popular holiday destination especially among Israelis, however the winter months also attract thousands of Europeans as the sun shines on average 360 days a year. In addition, the weather in Eilat keeps warm all year round, averaging from 21° C in January to 40° C in July, so tourism never stops there.
Eilat is famous for its blue sea, sun and yellow sand beaches. The city is known for its calm waters, suitable for snorkelling and diving, with fantastic underwater world with beautiful coral and often spotted aquatic mammals. Located 8 km from Eilat, Coral Reef National Park is an area for underwater diving enthusiasts. In addition, the city has a Underwater Observatory Marine Park where the Red Sea wildlife can be watched underwater. It is also worth trying glass bottom boat cruises or visiting a dolphin reef where you can watch dolphins in their natural environment.
You can also find spectacular nature in Eilat. Most of the beautiful attractions are located north of Eilat, in just about 20 minutes drive with car. Here, it is worth visiting the Timna Valley Park in the Negev Desert (famous for its natural sandstone formations and the oldest copper mines), the Eilat Mountains, the Har Amir Mountains, and the Red Canyon. In the city we recommend visiting the Eilat Botanical Garden, the Ornithological Park, or go to the ranch and try out camel safari. Furthermore, the city centre is full of cafes and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy incredible seafood, Middle Eastern cuisine or try traditional Jewish dishes such as humus, shakshuka, falafel.

Weather in Eilat is influenced by the mainland, therefore summers are hot and winters are warm. Average temperature vary from 10° C in winter up to 40° C in summer. The best time to visit Eilat is from April to November.
When choosing travel dates to visit Eilat you should take into account tourist peak season which is between June and September, therefore, you could save money and avoid crowds in the shoulder months of April, May or October, November.
