About Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is a city located in the southern part of Croatia on the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the most beautiful Croatian cities, set on a steep sea shore, surrounded by a defensive wall made from stone (25 m height, 2 km length) with forts and towers (14th – 18th centuries).

All the main attractions and the most beautiful places of Dubrovnik you will find in the old town which is accessed through the Pile Gate (16th century). This is where the main street of the Old Town – Placa (or Stradun) begins and where you can start looking at the beautiful architecture, shop for souvenirs, visit cafes or restaurants. In the old town you will find many historical monuments such as the Franciscan Church and Monastery (14th century), the Large Onofrio’s Fountain (15th century), the Dominican Monastery (14th – 16th century), the Cathedral (17th century). Furthermore, it is worth visiting the Rectors’ Palace (Knežev dvor, now a museum of history), which is considered a masterpiece of architecture and shows almost all architectural styles used in the city construction from the 13th century. Next to the palace you will also find Dubrovnik’s patron St Blaise’s Church (early 18th century), the Sponza Palace (16th century) and one of the oldest synagogues in the Europe located on the nearby Jewish (Žudioska) Street. In addition, if you want to see the panorama of this beautiful city, we recommend using the cable car and getting to the top of Mount Srd.

Dubrovnik has clean and tidy beaches, covered with pebbles on shores. If you like nature, we suggest you go to Lokrum Island, which is covered with oaks, pine trees, olive trees, and here you can enjoy beautiful views, warm sea and take a break from the bustle of the city. In the evenings, it is fun to walk down the narrow streets of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, visit the city’s architectural monuments or sit in a cozy cafés.
