Lisbon has an endless list of things to see – from Moorish and Roman architecture, museums and bustling nightlife to the surrounding towns and beautiful coastline. The most famous architectural monuments are Castelo de S. Jorge, Lisbon Cathedral, Belem Tower and the nearby Jeronimos Monastery. Other popular landmarks are the Santa Justa Lift and the Aqueduto das Aguas Livres. For a day trip, we recommend visiting Sintra, a small town near Lisbon. The town of Sintra is an open-air museum with extraordinary beauty castles and parks. We recommend visiting the Castelo dos Mouros (9th century), the Palacio da Pena, the Palacio de Monserrate and the Quinta da Regaleira. It is also worth a visit to the Cascais resort near Sintra, which is located on the beautiful sandy and rocky coastline and is famous for its luxurious mansions, museums and parks.

Lisbon has many beautiful parks and viewpoints such as the Sao Pedro de Alcantara, the Parque Eduardo VII or the Principe Real garden. One of the most beautiful viewpoint is Miradouro da Graca and it can be reached by 28th yellow tram. By the way, this tram is recognized as a symbol of Lisbon because it can take you to almost all major attractions. When heading back to the Old Town, we suggest you take a stroll through the city’s oldest quarter Alfama, which is famous for its narrow street mazes with historic houses and small bazaars. Also it is worth to visit the Avenida da Liberdade, where you can stroll through the shade of trees, discover many shops, cafes and restaurants. Here you can enjoy local wine – Port wine or Vinho Verde, as well try out traditional dishes such as Polvo a lagareiro (octopus dish), Bacalhau (dried cod with sauce) or Francesinha (a huge meat and sauce sandwich).
